Like it or not our thoughts are so Marxist...today

ts very important to understand Marxist has influenced all of us .Marx's concept of the dialectical process originates from Hegel. However Marx inverts the dialectic, so that instead of the ideas changing society it is the society that changes ideas. Of course it is the contradictions in each society that brings about the change. I am still to work out why there are always some who do not accept the dominant discourse and challenge it. However everyone in any society from the right to the left are effected by Marx. I remember Professor Chris Harris in the 80's when I was doing Social Anthropology pointing out that even Margaret Thatcher owed some of her thinking to Marx's dialectical materialism. I consider that Marx was not materialist enough and that the true material base is the biosphere. We have to remember that Marx was a 19th century thinker and had no awareness of what would become left biocentrism. And we a;so have to understand that Kuhn`s concept of the paradigm shift owes so much to both Marx and Hegel.
