The last barrier to Autumn and normal life...

The last barrier to Autumn and normal life...

.
I always think of this August bank holiday weekend is the last barrier between the rest of the year and the silly season. We find ourselves looking forward to 'normal' life the resumption of politics, the courses, the school year begins again. Philosophy courses resume and the leaves now falling increase to become a torrent. The resumption flows on to to the September equinox. And as light and dark near balance, the darkness and light in all of us becomes more apparent. It becomes apparent in institutions and in government's in world leaders and in the progress and consequences of events.
As Brexit proceeds we see the panic run through the body of the Conservative DUP monster that rules over us. They do not know what to do, like a demented magpie trapped in a kitchen they batter themselves against windows and false exits. Each escape route fails and the implications of failure grow stronger. They begin to realise that checking out is not the same as leaving and balanced between the prejudiced and the bigoted the government is in power but does not rule. Strangly mirrored in the USA the Trump administration begins as tragedy and morphs slowly into farce.

In the therapy world the pressures of school holidays on relationships begins to end.The hint of Autumn and the ghosts of Winter begin to stir. In Ystradgynlais Tesco the Christmas sweets begin to appear. The next seven days is the liminal zone between the unreality of suspended time and the full action if hidden and unconscious forces made manifest. The speed of change racks up the gears, the buses fill up again and the roads begin to more congested. Normal times are resuming or perhaps I should say reinvigorating Here comes the political conferences, the tiring annual event of a UKIP leadership election and the falling if the leaves..and Howard Middleton-jones, Jenni Jenkins return from France and we prepare for our courses at Asclepius Therapy ..behold the season and cycle of time...
