More homage to Catalonia and the Left paradigm.......the left governs but does not rule..yet.....

I observe the behaviour of the Tory Party. The truth is that Jeremy Cornyn has captured the initiative as the Tories respond to his ideas. We see the attempts, the futile pathetic attempt to copy him by a disintegrating obscene government that rules but does not govern. The paradigm has changed 1979 and the Thatcher experiment is as dead as is it's creator. I was talking to a friend yesterday about how suddenly had been the change.its almost as if I am living through the most exciting political time that I can remember. In the coming period the left are in charge but not yet in power. For ecosocialists a vigorous debate will unfold. I am sure my role will be both continued loyalty and membership of the Green Party. Labour still needs a conscience on the left and the left in general needs a source of radical and creative ideas.

Labour was rather poor on Catalonia and Plaid in Wales has a poor record on renewables . There is a need an overwhelming need for a strong Green Party. The dinosaurs of the left do not understand that the Catalonian situation is part of the crisis of the nation state and of late capitalism. Ecosocialism must be the lifeblood of a confident; proud and renewed left...

I am greateful to Jeff Gibbs for pointing out to me the different Eu reaction to Kosovo`s declaration of independence  by the EU commision and the  silence on Catalonia and their support for a supression of a peaceful demonstartion. I notice that the Basques sent observers to Catalonia.

For those on the the left could I suggest they read Marx and Lenin on the nationality question. They should consider the role of Catalonia during the Spanish Civil war and red their history on the resistance to Franco from Catalonia. They might also consider that to all intents and purposes that a right wing government is in power in Madrid. The para military police used on Sunday had it's antecedents in the Phalangists..so please read your history..and try reading Homage to Catalonia
