Hard Brexit nears death...a Greek Tragedy?...pass the Popcorn Arlene

The Tory deal with the DUP ironically makes the death of hard Brexit certain. The DUP want a soft border because they know the economic nerds of its supporters. They fear a special European status for Ulster is the beginning of a slippery slide to Irish reunification.
Ruth Davidson the saviour of the Tory government wants the economy put first. The control of free movement is dropping to the bottom if the agenda...alas poor Nigel...

Jobs and the economy links Ulster and Scotland. And worse for the doyens of hard Brexit . Talk of a cross party Brexit Commission spells the end for a little Englander agenda. The bluekip hegemony ends as we slowly drift at worse to a Norwegian style release perhaps at best we will never leave . There will be a Eoropean election in the UK in 2019...this time it will not be won by UKIP.

The poison of the European issue has reappeared within the Conservative party and it will be this that destroys its power once more. A new administration is coming as we watch the death throes of hard Brexit and of the Conservative party. I like a good Greek tragedy with all its elements of hubris, fatal flaws and the whims of fate. In the world of the Greek tragedy the sequence of the trilogy of plays began with the goat song or farce...in this case the farce was offered by the hapless Nuttal and the joke that is Boris Johnson and the return of the evil ventriloquists dummy that is Michael Gove. I will enjoy the spectacle that is to come. .pass me the popcorn...

Perhaps the DUP could reflect on the fate of the Liberal Democrats and the fate of Nick Clegg....a fate worthy of the House of Atreus....Arleen Foster could well think of the fate of Ifigeneia ..but I suspect that appreciation of Greek Tragedy is not a major element in a Calvinist psyche.....
Agamemnon was murderedby his wife Cleitimestra when he returned from Troy ..look into the eyes of Nick Clegg, Arlene Foster and be afraid....

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave! "
