Off the shoulder thoughts......

When Tracy Brabin is criticised for wearing an off the shoulder dress at the Dispatch Box and her message is ignored by the Tory Press we know that we truly live in the age of stupid. We all know that the double standars of dress between men and women is a central tenet of right wing masculinity. It's quite clear that in their minds a woman's clothes are more important than her words or thoughts. To be honest the thoughts behind the faces of these men of the right, of the journalists who manufacture the story is where disrespect truly exists. Behind the grey suits, behind the conventional persona lays a view of women that fears their strength and ease of mind, intellect and sexuality. I am tempted to ask the grey men of the Tories and those who except the conventionality of a woman's dress code imposed by men.... what deep, dark and Id based thoughts and desires lurk hidden by a thin and narrow persona?

The dress code of any institution exists to be challenged and not preserved. As the proportion of politicians who are women, ethnic minorities and LGBTQ+ are elected it follows that the dress code adapt and change . It is dress sense of Mark Francois, the cap of Farage and the aristocratic lounging of Jacob Rees Mogg that I found disrespectful. It is their message that is disrespectful and their actions against the disabled, the vulnerable and the other that shows a sense of poor taste and lack of value . We truly live in the age of Dominic Cummings when such events are designed to obscure the message. At one time BBC radio announcers wors dinner jackets when reading the news . Barriers exist to be challenged not preserved particularly when it's men dictating what a woman should wear and most of all when and indeed where. This is indeed the age of stupid as white, conservative and insecure conservative men unleash their prejudice.. Free us from Gammon...
