Educating Aaron Banks on Roman history and the Plutocrat Marcus Licinius Crassus

Educating Aaron Banks on Roman history and the Plutocrat Crassus

Aaron Banks I know that Classics is not your strong suit...but you might learn a great deal refelecting on the life of one Marcus Licinius Crassus he was a very wealthy man who used his wealth to build a political party and used that money to distract the Roman population with massive gladiatorial events using bread and circuses to distract them from the real issues. Now Crassus came to a very bad end surrounded by the parthians. These Parthians were a dark skinned people from what we would today call the Middle East.

Crassus was always going on about the threat from the Parthians so ending was somewhat ironic. He was such a wealthy man who had bought everybody, believed in nothing and thought he could do everything because of his power wealth and cynicism. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you Mr Banks but you might speculate and think about how the late Roman Republic was destroyed by authoritarian populists who ended up scrabbling amongst themselves. Does that sound like a UKIP leadership election/ I wonder? These politicians bought the masses cheaply with simple ideas and and simple solutions ..no Aaron I dont mean UKIp I mean Caesar and Crassus.........

Did you know Aaron that the Roman Empire was multi cultural, multi racial . It had Emperors who were black, there where dark skinned centurions on Hadrian wall and throughout the Empire. Citizenship was universal, there was a single code of law throughout Europe. St Paul was able to travel everywhere because he was a citizen. The Romans did not care what you believed in as long as your supported this culture. They did not light the Christians because they kept going on about the end of the world...but I digress.....

This Roman Empire reminds us of the EU a gigantic free market, with freedom of movement...Oh I forget Aaron you dont like the EU do ...or history...it is quite clear. Oh but back to Rome..these authoritarian populists in Rome mocked learning, mocked the Greeks, mocked Philosophy ...now Aaron does that remind you of anything? I guess not so I will go on.

The last great Emperor Julian a scholar was called an evil man because he thought, he rejected simplistic solutions. They replaced him with military tyrant, who could hard read or write. Those later Emperors were called the Dominate...perhaps that's where the model of authoritarian populists come from.....I wonder if Nigel Farage or Donald Trump got the idea from? ...but then again I dont think so...whats that you say Aaron ...No its nothing to do with S and M or Dominatrix...but if I were you I would stay from drinking molten gold/ that was a nasty ending for Crassus ..so Aaron stick to business and stop teaching us about History...Paul Nuttal is bad enough...

The Empire did not collapse because of immigration, or depravity. It collapsed because of disease , inflation and the growth of brutal plutocrats...now Aaron what does that tell us about today? On and aaron folow this link it might help.......
