It
is a Friday in late June 2018. We see a figure in a hat waiting at
Neath station. The man is about sixty, he has a very small amount of
hair ,a distinctive nose and rather crooked teeth .He is reflecting
on the events of the last two years. He had hoped to be travelling
by bus by now but it was only last year that Prime-minister Boris
Johnson had abolished bus passes for sixty year olds The man thinks "not another referendum". The new Conservative party formed by the
merger of UKIP and the non Cameron Tories has proposed the abolition
of the Welsh Assembly. Johnson and Deputy Prime Minister Farage are
touring Wales urging support for abolition.
In
Scotland the situation is unclear a Scottish declaration of
independence following Johnson's and Farage`s belief that the matter
of Scotland was settled in September 2014. There is a stand-off exists on
the English Scottish borders and many progressives and left wingers
are considering moving to Scotland. The market mechanism is the
decider of all things. Benefits are being slashed, social housing has
died. The health service is on the way to become a market based
organisation and Johnson and Farage are talking about how Wales will
be fully integrated into the English state and have argued t that the
“process of devolution failed”
The
visit of President Trump to Wales is hailed as a new beginning. The
"new special relationship” is promoted as market based, rugged
individualistic in nature and ideologically opposed to the left. The
new Trump Academy set up in Neath will administer all benefit payments and encourage community based activity for the work shy.
In
France the election of President Marine La Pen has led to a rapid
Fr-exit. Throughout the states of Europe the education system is
moving towards a simple business oriented approach. The Social
Sciences, The Arts and the theoretical Sciences are being axed and
replaced with the “Good Workers Education certificate” The
universities are entirely being privatised and the proportion of
people attending higher education and further education is falling.
There is a new slogan throughout Europe “You are on your own,,be
Proud”
In
Kent the effects of Brexirt has led to a vast migrant camp in Kent.
It began when local UK border authority staff were removed from
Europe. The BNP is growing rapidly in the South East. The
Johnson-Farage government is rearming rapidly. They are creating
thousands of jobs by expanding the armament industry and are
exporting throughout the world to anyone who will buy them. A smiling
Deputy Primeminister Farage; pint in hand sets "Well we only
make them, it gives us jobs and money its up to those other countries
to decide how they use them.” he explains that the governments next
move will be to abolish the declaration of human rights and they will
then move on to create a new security law to watch the trouble
makers...........
Just
a nightmare you have 22 days to prevent it beginning.....wake up and
smell the coffee........
Bleak, but not unbelievable. A nightmare indeed and Scotland would be where I would head for. Let's hope common sense prevails here and in America.
ReplyDeleteof course, it misses the counter move where the real people of England unilaterally declare independence from London ... but otherwise an interesting realisation of the "Leave" agenda
