The 73-minute surprise release, titled Michael Moore in Trumpland, is "an iteration of Moore's one-man play, which he had hoped to perform at a central Ohio theater" before it was allegedly banned for being too controversial, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The synopsis says: "See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of Trumpland in the weeks before the 2016 election."
Although New Yorkers will be able to watch the film for free at the IFC Center on Tuesday night, Michael Moore in Trumpland starts its regular run on Wednesday,Indiewire reports. Further details about where it will be released or on what platforms have not yet been made available.
Michael Moore in Trumpland is the filmmaker's second movie out this year, following up Where to Invade Next, which was released in February.
