This is Professor Sydney Anglo. he was the Professor in the History of ideas when I was completing my first degree in History at Swansea. Thanks to Sydney Anglo I have been fascinated with the history of ideas ever since. yesterday i was "debating2 Benjamin Mackenzie who told me essentially I was ignorant. I remember how Syd Anglo looked at me in 1980 and I smile as I think back at the ignorant young man I was then and may still be. Anyway Sydney introduced me to Machiavelli and Castiglione and the significance and values that they represented. I can only hope that in 40 years Benjamin Mackenzie may have learnt a bit more.........
